KARACHI: After announcing that there would be no closure for compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in Sindh during the entire week, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) announced a 24-hour closure for Thursday.

A statement issued by the gas utility on Wednesday said: `All CNG stations in Sindh including Karachi will remain closed from 8am to Thursday till 8am on Friday.

An SSGC spokesman told Dawn that due to a shortage of gas supply from a field they were experiencing a sudden drop in pressure.

`So in order to ensure regular supply of gas to our domestic consumers the stations have to be closed for a day,` he said.
