Educational institutes` security reviewed

LAHORE: The security arrangements were reviewe d at a meeting of senior police officers with the representatives of many educational institutions of the provincial capital on Wednesday.

Operations DIG Dr Haider Ashraf, vice chancellors, principals and heads of more than 40 educational institutions, including universities, colleges and schools, attended the meeting, besides some other senior police officials.

The participants discussed many proposals to improve the security arrangements in and around the educational institutions in the backdrop of Peshawar incident.

Dr Haider Ashraf assured the owners and heads of these institutions of cooperation and asked them to review arrangements.

He told them that all divisional SPs had already been directed to visit educational institutions in their respective divisions and also keep an eye on the anti-social elements.

The DIG asked them to intensify security by increasing the number of guards in and around the campuses and install CCTV cameras there.

He also asked them to raise boundary walls of the institutions` buildings for security purpose.
