I AM a retired employee of the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), an octogenarian, who, like many others, has been facing financial hardships owing to non-payment of dues by my former employer for the last more than two years.
Unfortunately, the medical facilities for retired employees have been so drastically reduced by the state-run news agency that they are almost non-existent. It is now obvious that at my age, I need medicines as well as healthcare on a regular basis.
As things stand today, it is always tough to decideifIshould prioritise household expenses or my medicines from the pension that I get. The higher authorities should look into the matter urgently, and at least clear my dues on a priority basis.
