LAHORE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has arrested nine officials of the Punjab Food Department in Gujranwala on the charges of misappropriation of food department wheat amounting to Rs170 million.

Two officials deputy director Ahmad Nawaz and assistant Shakoor are at large.

The ACE registered an FIR (01/25) at the ACE Gujranwala police station under sections 409, 420, 468 and 471 of the PPC and 5(2)47 of the PCA.

The nine officials, who have been arrested, are DFC (BS 17) Muhammad Zaman; assistants (BPS-16) Muhammad Shabbir and Muhammad Tariq, and senior clerks (BPS14) Muhammad Sharif, Abdul Ghaffar, Atiqur Rehman, Qamar Rasheed, Muhammad ljaz and Muhammad Salim.
