NAROWAL/LAHORE: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated two major road projects worth Rs2 billion and laid the foundation stones of a medical college and the Children`s Learning Park in Narowal on Tuesday.

She laid the foundation stone of 75km long Narowal-Muridke Road Phase II also and announced that the roads would be constructed and repaired in Narowal at a cost of Rs28bn. She announced construction of the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway Link Road. The 36km long Narowal-Shakargarh road was constructed with Rs1.6bn.

She was informed during the briefing that projects of construction and rehabilitation of 590 important roads were at final stages.

The 36km long NarowalShakargarh road was constructed in a record period of time. Narowal to Muridke Road Phase-1 was constructed at a cost of approximatelyRs500m. The Narowal Medical College will be completed within two years at a cost of Rs4.4bn.

Narowal Children`s Learning Park will be completed in two years at a cost of Rs100m.

Addressing a big rally which had women and children, she said the Narowal Circular Road would be completed soon with Rsibn.

`We believe in not working on slogans,` she asserted and predicted that every coming day would be better than before.

Maryam added that she was happy to see a large number of people in the gathering.

The CM added: `We will achieve the record target of constructing and rehabilitating 11,000 km of roads across Punjab at a cost of Rs320bn.

Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal said the people of Narowal had given an historical welcome to CM Maryam Nawaz.

He claimed that the PML-N had made Narowal a city of knowledge.

Earlier, Mr Iqbal welcomed the CM who arrived in the helicopter.

Marriyum Aurangzeb was also accompanying the CM.

MNAs Anwarul Haq, Vijaya Akram, MPs Khawaja MuhammadWasim Butt, Rana Manan Khan, Bilal Akbar, Ahmad Iqbal and Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora were also present.

HOSPITAL: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz laid the foundation stone of the Saudi-German Hospital in Lahore Smart City along with Batterjee Group Chairman Sultan Sobhi Batterjee.

Speaking on the occasion, she said, `The Saudi German Hospital Network is known worldwide for its modern medical technology and quality services.

She highlighted, `The network is successfully providing services in SaudiArabia,UnitedArabEmirates, Egypt, Morocco and Yemen.

Ms Maryam said: `Saudi German Hospital will provide high-quality modern medical facilities not only to the people of Lahore but of the entire Punjab. It will be equipped with modern medical technology and international standard facilities.` The chief minister said she wanted to improve the entire health system of Punjab and private sector should play its due role in this regard.

The new hospital will prove to be a milestone in improving upon public health and establishing a welfare society.
