DERA GHAZI KHAN: A girl drowned while another was rescued while bathing in the Indus here on Tuesday near Jhoke Utra, Tehsil Kot Chutta.

Rescue 1122 received an emergency call that two girls had been swept away by the river`s strong currents. In response, a motorbike ambulance, a regular ambulance and a rescue vehicle were immediately dispatched from the Central Station Chok Chowrahta.

Upon arrival, rescue personnel found that locals had already recovered one of the girls from the water. She was given first aid on-site and is reported to be out of danger.

However, the search for the second girl is still ongoing.
