GUJRANWALA: The election commissionappointedonWednesday the returning officer (RO) and the assistant returning officer (ARO) for local bodies election in Cantonment Board scheduled for April 25.

Cantt executive officer Hasan Akhtar Mirza has been appointed as the RO while Sadar Assistant Commissioner Arifullah Awan will be the ARO.

The voters` lists of cantonment board of as many 10 constituencies will be displayed in the election com-mission office here on March 29.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif constituted a vigilance committee for local election.

MNA Hamza Shahbaz is its convener while former law minister Rana Sanaullah, provincial ministers Rana Mashhood, Dr Farrukh Javed, Malik Asif, Abdul Wahid Arien, former MNA Hanif Abbasi, adviser Saud Majeed and MPA Taufiq Butt will serve as its members.

According to EC sources, the new delimitation will be prepared on the basis of 1988 census.

FOUND MURDERED: The 10-yearold boy, who went missing on Tuesday,was found murdered on Wednesday.

After Ali Faizan, son of Muhammad Naeem, of Chiragh Nagar went missing, his family searched for him everywhere, making announcements in mosques but to no avail. Some passers-by found his body at a deserted place and informed police. It was suspected that the boy was sexually assaulted before being killed.

Police registered a case and handed over the body to the family.

The family and relatives of the victim blocked Nawab Chowk bypass by placing his body on the road and demanded arrest of the criminals.
