NEW DELHI: The Federal Court heard arguments in the station master bribery case, in which T.G. Huntley, Station Master of Jamalpore, is charged with having accepted Rs.

20 for supplying two wagons to Moharram Ali for the transport of livestock to Bally.

Huntley was sentenced to 18 months` rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 500 by a special tribunal under an ordinance promulgated last year to deal summarily with bribery.

Mr. H.G. Walford, appearing for the appellant, argued that Sections 270 and 271 of the Government of India Act provided protection to public servants and that without the GovernorGeneral`s sanction prosecution could not be launched against his client.
