School fee hike

2023-04-19
AMID rising inflation, many schools have increased their tuition fees, putting an additional burden on the parents who are struggling to make ends meet already.

Education is the fundamental right of every child, and it is the responsibility of the government to ensure that this right is upheld. However, with the increase in tuition fee, many children from lowincome families are unable to continue their education, which ultimately af fects theirfuture prospects.

The government should take necessary measures to prevent schools from increasing fees excessively. It should, in fact, provide financial assistance to families that are unable to afford fees, and introduce policies that regulate the fees charged by private schools, especially during times of economic difficulty.

Furthermore, schools should also realise the current economic situation and show empathy towards families that are struggling financially. Rather than increasing tuition fees, schools should find alternative ways to reduce their costs or offer scholarships to students who demonstrate academic excellence.

Education should not become a luxury that is reserved only for the wealthy.

Therefore, the government should take necessary stepstoreverse the hikein tuition fee and ensure that every child has access to quality education, regardless of one`s financial or social background.
