LAHORE: An agreement was signed between the Zakat & Ushr Department and a cellular company here on Friday for transparent distribution of Zakat.

Special Assistant to the provincial government on Zakat & Ushr and Special Assistant Rashid Iqbal Nasrullah said distributing Zakat through a cellular company`s service woulddirectly benefit the deserving people. `Use of technology will eliminate the need to wait in long queues.

Home transfer of Zakat funds will not only provide convenience to the beneficiaries but also protect their dignity,` he said and added there would be no room for corruption in direct transfers through the use of technology. Staff Reporter
