ennis legend Billie Jean King has been honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the newly created Sports Entertainment category. At 81, King became the first woman to receive the distinction, which celebrates contributions to entertainment through sports.

King`s star is the 2,807th on the Walk of Fame, located near Hollywood and Vine. The sports entertainment category was introduced in 2021 and King followed Michael Strahan, who was the first honouree in 2023.During her career, King won 39 Grand Slam titles, founded the Virginia Slims Circuit, and famously defeated Bobby Riggs in the 1973 `Battle of the Sexes.

She also advocated for equal pay and was instrumental in the passage of Title IX. King was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1987.•
