KARACHI: The Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has issued a statement clarifying a news report published in Dawn on Sunday under the headline, `Fuel supply to small power houses suspended` The PSO says that the power stations referred to in the report are cash customers who are supplied fuel based on orders placed and payments made for the supplies.

These power plants of Balochistan last placed orders on May 15 and supplies were accordingly made. However, no further order has been placed with PSO and the company cannot supply fuel in the absence of any order/demand placed by the power plants.

The PSO is the major supplier of fuel to most of the power companies, the statement said, adding that it had been meeting the fuel needs of these entities in the required quantity and quality without any major disruption.
