DADU: Activists of Sindh United Party staged a procession in protest against acute shortage of water for farmland as well as humans and animals in Sehwan taluka on Wednesday.

The protesters marched from the party`s taluka office to Indus Highway where they staged a demonstration, bringing traffic to a halt.

SUP central secretary general Roshan Ali Buriro and the party`s district president Darya Khan Leghari said that the situation had worsened in Sehwan as there was not even drinking water for town residents.

Land had turned barren in Sehwan taluka due to lack of water in canals and waterways, which had created drought-like conditions in the area, they said. -Correspondent
