Woman found unconscious on road dies in hospital

BAHAWALNAGAR: A woman, who was allegedly kidnapped on Tuesday night and later found lying on a highway in an unconscious condition, succumbed to her injuries at the DHQ Hospital on Wednesday.

According to police, 25-year-old Sana of Muslim Colony left her house to buy some eatables from a nearby market at about 9pm on Tuesday. However, she went missing and later she was found lying on Minchinabad highway in an unconscious condition near Adda Loharka, some 15-km away from her house at about 11pm, they added.

Police said Sana was kidnapped, brutally tortured by her captors and later she was thrown out from a car on the road.

She was shifted to the DHQ Hospital by Rescue 1122; however, she died at the hospital during treatment, the police said.

DPO`s spokesperson Shehzad Ishfaq said the police had traced the deceased`s family and registered a case against unknown assailants onthe complaint of her parents.

Police have shifted the body for autopsy and are investigating the matter.

MEPCO: On the instructions of the prime minister, a new method to improve service quality has been introduced through which consumers can directly contact Multan Electric Power Company and get their complaints registered.

According to Mepco SE Muhammad Shahzad Rai and EXEN Fayaz Qurban Rajpar, the company has initiated a complaint redressal system through WhatsApp.

The Mepco consumers, who use the WhatsApp services, will be able to join a group on the platform and can receive important updates and also get their complaints registered.

The Mepco officials will be group admins and facilitators and will be responsible to resolve the complaints on an urgent basis.

The officials will fix issues related to technical faults, blackouts, loadshedding and update about maintenance schedules. The entire system will be monitored at the circle and headquarters level.
