LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has summoned PTI leader and former federal minister Moonis Elahi in some bank transactions probe for Monday.
The NAB said a sum of over Rs50million had been deposited with the bank accounts of Mr Elahi. He was asked to appear before it on May 22 to clear his position regarding these transaction failing which a legal action would be initiated against him. The FIA is probing this case against Amir Sohail and Nazir Ahmad on money laundering charges.
Responding to the FIA’s notice, Moonis Elahi said in a tweet: “This amount of over Rs50million deposited with my accounts has been mentioned in my tax returns. The FIA actually wants to arrest me in any other anonymous case by summoning me in this probe.”
