TOBA TEK SINGH: Robbers killed an army soldier, who was home on leave, over resistance in the Chuttiana area of Toba on Sunday.
Rescue 1122 and police reports identified the victim as 38-year-old Mobeen Shahzad Jat, a resident of Chak 328-GB. He was returning from Chak 333GB, bringing milk on his motorcycle when two robbers intercepted him near Chak 332-GB Jakhra on Pirmahal-Shorkot Road.
When the suspects tried to rob him, he resisted and one of the suspectsopened fire on him. A bullet hit his head.
As a result of the firing, Mobeen died on the spot.
His body was handed over to his family after an autopsy at the Rural Health Centre, Chak 316-GB. In another incident in Toba, two car riders, including a child, were injured critically as their car collided with a tractor-trolley on Shorkot Road near Chak 299-GB. They were identified as Razzaq (55) and a child Abdul Rahman (6).
