SUKKUR: A government official who had just returned to his home in Kandhkot after a long time was shot dead in the name of ‘honour’ on Saturday night.

The victim, Hidayatullah Lashari, was a sub-divisional officer in roads department.

According to residents of the Madressh locality, where he once lived, Lashari and his family had moved to Karachi long ago due to poor law and order situation in Kandhkot.

Lashari returned to Kandhkot on Friday but was shot dead the very next day, residents of the neighbourhood said, adding that he might have been killed by someone belonging to the Khoso community in the name of honour.
