QUETTA: The newly-appointed Inspector General of Police, Balochistan, Mohammad Amlesh, assumed the charge of his office on Wednesday.

Mr Amlesh, who was Additional IGP, Punjab, has replaced Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera who was transferred and posted asIGP Punjab.

After taking over the charge, Mr Amlesh called on Governor Mohammad Khan Achakzai and Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch and discussed with them the security situation and steps being taken by the police for maintaining law and order in the province.

Chief Secretary Babar Yaqoob Fateh Mohammad also attended the meeting.
