Three booked for `rape` of ninth-grader

SAHIWAL: Police have registered a case against three suspects and arrested two of them for allegedly molesting and blackmailing a 15-year-old ninthgrade student through a mobile phone video in official quarters of the irrigation department in Neeli Bar Canal Colony.
Reports said `S` of Sarwar Shaheed Road, Civil Lines, had been subjected to sexual assault and blackmailed by three suspects `A`, `R` and `Az` for the past one year.
The Civil Lines police registered a case against the suspects underSection 375 ofthe Pakistan Penal Code, following a complaint lodged by the victim`s father, who is a government official.
Police investigations revealed that on April 18, 2024, the suspects allegedly lured the boy to one of the official residences andmolested him at gunpoint and filmed the act. They continued to exploit and abuse him, threatening to release the video if he resisted.
The ordeal came to light on June 16, when the boy was playing outside and was approached by the suspects, who attempted to take him away on a motorcycle.
The boy resisted and cried for help.
As neighbours and his father rushed to the scene, the suspects fled. The boy`s father reported the matter to the Civil Line police, leading to registration of the case.
Station House Officer Rana Imtiaz confirmed that a medical examination was conducted, which corroborated the allegations of molestation. He said two of thesuspectshadbeen arrested, while efforts were underway to apprehend the prime suspect `A`.
GANG RAPE: A woman was allegedly gang-raped during a dacoity in village Bablana,Pakpattan. Kalyana police booked a named suspect and three unidentified people on the complaint of the alleged gangrape survivor`s husband.
Police reports said the family was asleep in the courtyard when four gunmen invaded by crossing the house wall. The dacoits locked the husband and son in one of the rooms while two persons raped the woman in another room.
The dacoits also took away two mobile phones and cash.
Police have not arrested anyone yet.
COPS MANHANDLED: Two policemen were allegedly assaulted and dragged by suspected drug peddlers at Dispensary Road, Ghosia Colony, on Tuesday night.
Reports said Assistant SubInspector (ASI) Nazim Ali and Constable Abid Hussain, stationed at the Ghala Mandi police post Chowki (Bypass), were patrolling Ghosia Colony on amotorcycle to inspect security camera installations in connection with Muharram.
During their visit, a group of drug peddlers mistook them for a police raid and immediately intercepted them, overpowered them, firing shots into the air.
The suspects assaulted the officials, tearing Constable Abid`s uniform, dragging ASI Nazim Ali, and damaging their motorcycle before fleeing the scene.
Ghala Mandi police have registered a first information report (FIR) under sections 353, 440, 506, 282/H-2, 148, and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code against Shahbaz Nabi, Amir Jutt, Husnain Ali, Shahroz, Danis Dhakko and two unidentified individuals based on ASI Nazim Ali`s complaint.
Police later confirmed that four of the suspects were arrested during a late-night operation. Further investigations are ongoing.
