PML-N leader`s son laid to rest

ISLAMABAD: Hanza Tariq, the son of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, was laid to rest at a local graveyard on Tuesday.

Hanza`s funeral prayers were offered at the PML-N central secretariat on Park Road and were attended by a large number of people from all walks of life. Former prime minister Shahid Khagan Abbasi, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, former Sindh governor Mohammad Zubair, Amir Muqam, Ageel Anjum, Hanif Abbasi and Nayyar Bukhari attended the funeral prayers.

According to the police, Hanza, 22, and his guard sustained injuries when their vehicle collided with a pole on Seventh Avenue and overturned several times before coming to a halt on the opposite lane while trying to avoid a motorcyclist who suddenly appeared on the path. People present on the greenbelt of the avenue rushed to rescue the occupants of the vehicle.

Rescue 1122 was called and the injured were shifted to a hospital where Hanza died, the police said, adding that the condition of the injured guard was critical.
