Beach day blunders

It was a beautiful day not cloudy but sunny yet the air was fresh and quite breezy.
Today, we were going to the beach. We were so excited that even before anyone could call us, we quickly packed our bags with everything we would need: caps, sunscreen, sunglasses, an umbrella, a ball, a frisbee, etc.
During our journey, we were all chatting about random things, teasing each other, and having fun. Then I took out a packet of crisps from my bag and started munching loudly.
Just then, our pet cat, Snowy, who had also accompanied us on the trip, jumped onto my lap and began pawing at the packet. Realising she was hungry, I turned to get her cat food f rom my backpack.
The moment I turned, she quickly took the packet in her mouth and glided to the backseat. As I had my seatbelt on, I scrambled to unstrap it. While I fumbled with the strap, Snowy nibbled on the crisps. I knew they were bad for her health, so I called out to my brother to snatch the packet away from her, since my seatbelt was stuck and wouldn`t open.
My brother tried to take the packet of crisps from her mouth, but suddenly, out of confusion, Snowy bit him on his right hand.
He gave a loud yelp. Luckily, he was not hurt.
My mother looked back and, out of concern, asked Dad to find a doc-tor nearby, as taking any risk was out of the question. So, we headed to the doctor and had to stay there for some time, as there were already many patients waiting for their turn. Finally, when the doctor saw my brother, he assured us there was nothing to worry about and that he would be fine soon.
We resumed our journey, and it took about two hours to reach the beach. But to our surprise, the beach was already very crowded, and find-ing a clean spot for the family became a big challenge. Anyway, we managed to squeeze in and spread out our picnic sheet.
We were all starving, so it was decided we would have lunch first and then head to the water. However, one person had to stay back on the shore to look after our belongings and Snowy, and to secure the spot.
I volunteered to stay back as everyone went to the water.
It had only been about two minutes when a huge wave came crash-ing in. I got completely soaked. I hadn`t been prepared for this at all.
Forgetting everything else, I rushed to the changing room to get into dry clothes.
When I returned, I was shocked to see that another family had taken over our spot. Some of our belongings were floating in the water, while others were scattered across the sand. Panic and worry washed over me.
Just then, my parents came back, and I braced myself for a scolding.
Af ter all, I probably deserved it.
Gathering the few remaining things, my parents stayed on the beach and asked me to go enjoy the water. The water was unexpectedly cold, but we siblings were having a great time. Just then, I felt a sharp pinch on my foot. I was sure I had been bitten by some sea creature.
Limping out of the water, I looked around for a lifeguard and found one. I quickly approached him and showed him the bite area. He immediately said it was a crab bite and told me to apply antiseptic cream.
He assured me the swelling and pain would go away soon.
I limped over to my parents and told them everything. They thought it was better to head home now. So, we packed up and walked towards the car, only to find that one of the tyres was flat. Dad had to replace it with the spare, which took about half an hour.
Once the car was ready, we all got in, exhausted and just wanting to get home. But then my brother shouted, `Ice cream shop! Dad stopped so we could buy some and hopefully forget all the little troubles we had faced. I bought the biggest ice cream serving they offered and started eating it happily during the drive. I was enjoying every delicious bite as the car drove along the barren road, when suddenly my brother made a loud joke, trying to scare me.
Startled, I screamed, and my ice cream fell out of my hand, splatting right onto the car floor. There was nothing either of us could do. Dad offered to stop at another shop, but I said I just wanted to go home and thatwasit.
Even though this trip didn`t go as planned, I must admit, it was a joyful experience, and one I`ll never forget. After all, not everything in life goes your way, and sometimes, you just have to learn to adjust and make the best of what you have.
