THE United States Agency for International Development (USAID) organised a two-day dialogue with the Higher Education Commission and 16 Pakistani universities hosted at the Institute of Business Administration, as per a press release. The Higher Education System Strengthening Activity brought together a network of American professors to help strengthen the performance of its partner universities. The event stimulated discussions on issues in higher education, peer-to-peer learning, and the exchange of ideas and best practices among partner universities.
The opening session of this twoday dialogue was chaired by Kate Somvongsiri, Mission Director USAID/Pakistan, alongside Professor Tariq Rafi, Chairman of Sindh Higher Education Commission. Dr Rafi said, `This initiative will advance the organisational performance of public sector universities, and we stand committed to making our programmes more demand-driven for better employability.`
