Lahore Lions leave for India

LAHORE: Lahore Lions kabaddi team aiming to top the medals table in the ongoing World Kabaddi League (WKL) have left for India via the Wagah Border on Thursday.
Sports Board Punjab director general Usman Anwar saw off the team which will reach Jullandar to feature in the fourth round matches of the eight-team mega event withthe national team to be playing back-to-back matches against California Eagles on Friday and Vancouver Lions on Saturday.
Khalsa Warriors with 13 points hold top position after playing seven matches while Lahore Lions are placed at number two with eight points.
Usman said that the Kabbadi team will try their level best to dethrone Warriors, adding that the Lahore Lions had become quitefamiliar with Indian conditions.
Squad: Babar Waseem Gujjar (captain), Shafiq Chishti, Akmal Shahzad Dogar, Mohammad Ramzan, Mohammad Khalid, Arshad Mahmood, Mohsin Naseer, Naeem Tahir Sindhu, Mohammad Aslam, Saifullah, Rehman Ishtiaq, Khalil Ahmed.
