PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and political leadership condemned the attack on Pakistan Air Force base, Badhaber, here on Friday.
In a statement, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak strongly condemned the terrorist attack and said that such cowardly acts could not serve any purpose of terrorists as the civilian government and the Pakistan Army were fully committed to combating terrorists.
He paid tribute to Captain Asfandyar Bukhari who embraced martyrdom while fighting terrorists. He also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the casualties and sympathies to the bereaved families.
ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan, in a statement issued here, condemned the attack on Badhaber base. He said that it was imperative to act on every point of the National Action Plan. He said that Pakistan and Afghanistan should resolve their issues and came to a single page so that the cross-border terrorism could come to an end.
He also said that terrorists were taking benefit of weakening of some political forces.
KP governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmed also condemned the incident. In a statement, the governor, who is in Saudi Arabia to perform Haj, condemned the attack and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls. He said that the whole nation was proud of the sacrifices of the armed forces and civilians.
KP acting governor Asad Qaisar visited the Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar, and inquired about the health of the wounded civilians of the attack. He also expressed sympathies with the bereaved families of those killed in the attack.
QWP chairman Aftab Sherpao condemned the attack and expressed his deep grief with families of the slain and injured personnel and asked the federal government to implement the NAP across the country. ANP KP president Amir Haider Hoti also condemned the attack. Bureau Report
