MUZAFFARGARH: The Muzaffargarh division of the Multan Electric Supply Company (Mepco) switched off a feeder to cut electricity supply to some areas of the division in protest against a robbery incident in which three company officials were deprived of cash and valuables on Saturday night.

The Mepco officials were on duty at night when the incident happened and the robbers took away cash, mobile phones and identity cards of the offi-cials at gunpoint in mohallah Ganesh Wah near Chah Balochiwala canal.

The All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union CBA office-bearers claimed that the Civil Lines police did not register the case and they cut off the electricity supply from a feeder in protest against the incident and police inaction.

They warned of switching off feeders of the whole Muzaffargarh district if police did not register the case.-Correspondent
