KHYBER Pakhtunkhwa has declared a health emergency owing to an epidemic of mosquito-borne diseases, especially dengue. The outbreak of the disease has left people worried as a huge number of patients are making it increasingly dif ficult for hospitals to admit and treat them.

Despite this, some people are trying to make things worse. Recently, a family was caught with a bag of mosquitoes suspected to be carriers of alethaldiseasein the Hayatabad Medical Complex, Peshawar.

According to news reports, the family was asked to f ree the mosquitoes in the hospital in return for money. It is beyond comprehension as to who and why anyone would think of doing something like this and putting people`s lives at risk.

After questioning the family, the guard of the complex let them go with just a warning, although the f amily should have been arrested and questioned until any names were provided.
