Three brothers shot dead over trifle

LAHORE: Three brothers were allegedly shot dead while another was injured critically over a petty issue of car parking at Shahdara Town on Monday.

The complainant, Hafiz Tahir Mehboob, stated in the first information report (FIR) that his relatives who had arrived from Muzaffarabad had parked their car in the street on Sunday. Rasheeda Bibi came out and asked them to take the car out of the street. This led to an exchange of words between both sides. Rasheeda returned with her husband Asghar Ali, sons Raza Ali and Ghulam Abbas, and other relatives armed with lethal weapons.

The complainant said the attackers first shot at and injured him and later his three brothers who came to help one another without exchanging even a single word. They sprayed a volley of bullets on the four brothers. The suspects also rushed to the rooftop of nearby houses and kept on firing from there.

Resultantly, Hafiz Tahir and his three brothers got multi-ple injuries, causing instant death of two of them while another died in hospital.

The deceased were identified as Hafiz Tahir Mehmood (40), Masood (35) and Hafiz Zeeshan (30). The condition of their fourth brother Hafiz Tahir Mehboob (55) was said to be out of danger.

The relatives of the deceased and other local residents placed the bodies on the road and lodged a protest against the murder of three brothers.

They had shifted to the Shahdara Town of Lahore a couple of years back in search of a better living.

Police registered a case against the killers under murder and anti-terrorism charges on the complaint of Tahir Mehboob. Those nominated in the FIR included Asghar Ali, Rasheeda, their sons Raza All and Ghulam Abbas, Asghar`s brother, Hameed, and five other close relatives.

Lahore Operations DIG Sohail Chaudhry said the bodies had been sent to Muzaffarabad. He claimed that police had arrested many suspects involved in the case.
