LAHORE: As the ownership of London flats stands proven, the onus of proving money trail now lies with the rulers, Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Tahirul Qadri said to his workers by phone from London on Friday.
He said that committing crime and proving it were two different things in Pakistan. Model Town massacre was one such example where 14 people lost their lives right before television cameras, but the investigators failed to find witnesses to prove it.
It now stands proven that crime is committed. Even before going to the court, everyone knew that they were up against ferocious dictators and it would be hard to prove what they had done in the past.
About Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan’s complaints about the performance of his lawyers, Mr Qadri said he should have known that free lunches were hardly sweet. He must add a few more lawyers to his team or create a panel of them.
The Panama Leaks case has two dimensions -- legal and moral. Even if the legal side faces some problems, moral side is proven.
“A villager would stand witness to the level corruption in Pakistan, the Panama Leaks included. I know a lot about the Sharif family on personal level but raise only those issues which are already in the public. These flats are older than what papers claim,” he concluded.
