Wedding guests protest robbery

GUJRANWALA: Participants in a wedding procession, including the bridegroom, blocked the Alam Chowk bypass and demonstrated a robbery incident here on Friday.
According to reports, the wedding procession of Zahid was set for a marriage hall near Alipur Bypass. The participants were travelling by buses, cars and motorcycles.
Yasin and his wife were also travelling on a motorcycle. When they reached near Quaid-i-Azam Town, two robbers on a motorcycle stopped them and took away Rs10,000 and gold ornaments from them and escaped.
After the robbery, Yasin called his relatives and other participants in the wedding procession. They, including the bridegroom, reached there and blocked the bypass roadin protest against the robbery incident.
The Aroop police station house officer reached the demonstration spot and assured the protesters of tracing out the robbers as soon as possible. The protesters ended the demonstration on his assurance.
ARRESTED: The CrimeInvestigation agency (CIA) arrested six people on uploading their picture on the social media holding weapons on Friday and seized six weapons from them.
According to reports, the suspects, including Shabbir, Abdul Rehman, Aaqib and Rashid, uploaded their pictures with weapons on Facebook.
A crackdown was conducted against them on the instructions of SSP Operations retired Capton Ali Zia. A police team raided arrested the suspects from different areas.
Meanwhile, the CIA also busted a gang and arrested one of its members, Mushtaq of Burewala. The accused was involved in robbery in electronics market.
WEAPONS: The Model Town police arrested seven people during a search operation and recovered illegal weapons from them.
SHO Model Town Amir Shaheen Gondal led a team to carry out a search operation and arrested Ehsanullah and six other people for possessing illegal weapons. A Kalashnikov, a rifle, five pistols, hashish and liquor were recovered from them.
