MULTAN: Around 5.05 million seed-cotton (phutti) bales reached ginning factories across the country till Dec 15 registering a 35.67 per cent shortfall compared to corresponding period last year when arrivals were recorded over 7.8m bales, data released by the fortnightly report of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) showed on Friday.
The PCGA data showed that over 4.7m bales have undergone the ginning processi.e convertedinto bales.
Cotton arrivals in Punjab were recorded at 2.9m bales while Sindh produced just over 2m bales. Over 4.2m bales had been sold out with, 4.1m bales were bought by textile mills and remaining 62,500 were picked up by exporters.-APP
