Zulfi vows to free locals from feudal rule

TAXILA: Former special assistant to the prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Zulfi Bukhari said people of Attock would be freed from the clutches of the feudal family rule.

He was addressing a public gathering held in connection with the inauguration of Ziarat-Sarwyia road on Sunday. The 2.5km-long road would be constructed with an allocation of Rs62.5 million during the current fiscal year.

Mr Bul(hari said from the last many decades feudals had been ruling the district and he joined local politics from the most remote and far-flung constituency of NA-50 to address the suffering of the inhabitants who were kept derived of basic amenities like drinking water, roads and infrastructure.

He said that now time has come to create awareness among the masses that the rule of a particular family should be ended.

A delegation from union council Dandi on the occasion announced to support him in the upcoming election.

He said funds were released andtenders issued for execution of three road projects in the town, adding Rs29 million would be spent on Nehlud to Meera Sharif road, Rs16 million on Dhoke Tajjal and Nehuld and Rs6 million on Aleem Sahib to Ziarat road. He said with the execution of these road projects, not only communication and transportation problems of therural areas would be addressed but the infrastructure of the area would also develop.

Mr Bukhari said the Punjab government was taking concrete steps to improve the lives of the area peopie living in the rural areas of Pindigheb and had allocated a record amount of funds for development projects there.
