Five injured as car and van collide in Ahmedpur East

BAHAWALPUR: A road accident left five people, including a woman, with serious injuries at Adda Wahi Jan Muhammad in Ahmedpur East on Sunday.

According to Rescue 122, a car driver applied the brakes in an effort to stop the vehicle and save elderly pedestrian Qadir Baksh and six-year-old Muhammad Kabeer.

A waggon struck the car from behind, causing it to strike the barrier, fly into the air, and land on the opposite side of the road.

Driver Zahid, passengers Safu Mai and Muhammad Saqib, and pedestrians Qadir and Kabear were injured when the waggon overturned and were sent to the Ahmedpur EastTehsil Headquarters Hospital.

Ad ditionally, Muhammad Q asim is said to have hanged himself at village 231/WB, close to Dunyapur.

The police moved the body to the 231/WB Rural Health Centre for a postmortem assessment.

I N D U S T R I A L ESTATE: The Bahawalpur Industrial Estate is being built on 483.48 acres for Rs9.985 billion.

The estate`s construction work was reviewed by Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar. The estate will contain 274 one-acre plots, 48 halfacre plots, and 262 fourmarla and larger plots.

The commissioner directed the development director to expedite development activities in accordance with the master plan.
