Funds `okayed` for Lower Dir roads

2025-01-20
LOWER DIR: District development advisory committee chairman Ubaidur Rehman has said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved funds for several roads in his PK-17 constituency and work on them will start soon.

He said this while addressing a function after inaugurating a road project in Badalzo Munda village council here on Sunday. `The project will cost Rs14.2 million,` he said.

The lawmaker said that 416 kanals of land had been allocated for Dir University, for which Rs100 million had been approved.

He rejected the reports that the Dir University project had been dropped from the Annual Development Programme.

Mr Rehman said that he did not believe in mere slogans, and was committed to resolving public issues.

Criticising the federal government, he said that false and baseless cases had been registered against the PTI founder Imran Khan and other party leaders and workers. He insisted that the former prime minister would make no deal with the government for his release from the jail.

He said that Rs150 million had been approved for the Munda-Samarbagh Road and construction work would start on it by the end of February.

The lawmaker claimed the government had allocated Rs40 million for the Shalkandi link road.

He said that the main roads in PK-17 as well as link roads of the suburban areas would also be constructed with quality work. Correspondent
