LAHORE: Kashmiri leader Mushaal Hussein Mullick has voiced concerns about the ongoing oppression in India-held Kashmir, stating that it surpasses even the situation in Palestine.
She was addressing a seminar on the `Kashmir Issue and the Responsibilities of the International Community` by the University of Engineering and Technology (UE T) Teaching Staff Association.
Ms Mullick, chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organization and wife of jailed Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Mohammad Yasin Malik, was the chief guest at the seminar.
She highlighted the global public support for Palestinians, con-trasting it with the largely unreported atrocities faced by Kashmiris. She questioned, `Is the voice of Kashmiris so weak that it fails to reach the world?` Ms Mullick accused Indian intelligence agency RAW and the RSS of being behind terrorist activities in Pakistan, while emphasizing that Kashmiris continue their daily struggle for freedom despite the presence of a million Indian military personnel.
She criticized the United Nations for its failure to hold India accountable for its actions in Kashmir and demanded the immediate release of innocent detainees.
She shared that her mother was the first woman to sacrifice her daughter for the Kashmiri cause and expressed her commitment to preparing her daughter, RaziyaSultana, to continue the struggle.
Speaking on the issue of water resources, Mullick questioned, `Who has sacrificed for the rivers flowing from India? Whose blood has coloured this water?` She urged the youth and the public to stand united for Kashmir, warning that if the world fails to act as it did for Palestine, it should prepare for divine consequences.
Speaking at a gathering hosted by the Lahore High Court Bar Association, Mushaal Mullick said Kashmir cause was still in search of a leader like Jinnah.
She said efforts were being made to make the Kashmir freedom movement leaderless.
She hailed the statement of Army Chief Asim Munir that Pakistan could fight 10 wars for Kashmir. She expressed grati-tude to the legal fraternity for giving importance to the Kashmir issue. She highlighted that all freedom leaders were imprisoned and facing unilateral verdicts, adding that such one-sided decisions had never been seen anywhere in the world.
She sought guidance from lawyers on how the Kashmir case could be taken to an international legal forum.
