PESHAWAR: The sacked employees of Lakki Cement Factory on Wednesday held a protest demonstration at Sher Shah Suri Road to demand of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to order their reinstatement.
The workers were holding banners and placards inscribed with their demands and shouted against the management of the factory. Talking to mediapersons, the Lakki cement labour union leaders, Mohammad Ismail and Saifullah, said 144 employees had been terminated without any reason.
`We were sacked four years ago for the only sin that we formed labour union and despite repeated strikes the employees were not reinstated,` they said and added that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak had directed the concerned deputy commissioner to help reinstate the people, but to no avail. Bureau
