TIMERGARA: The Jamaat-i-Islami`s parliamentary leader in the National Assembly Sahibzada Tariqullah has threatened to bring people of Lower and Upper Dir districts on roads if the National Highways Authority didn`t reconstruct the deteriorating ChakdaraTimergara road.
Talking to journalists at the Chakdara Press Club here the other day, the JI leader said that Rs102 million was spent on repair of the road last year, but due to use of substandard material, it fell apart within months.
He alleged that 60 per cent of the money was paid in commissions to NHA officials.
He demanded of the government to include reconstruction of Chakdara-Timergara and Akhagram to Dir Khas roads in the Public Sector Development Programme.
PAPER CANCELLED: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Malakand Chakdara, has cancelled the English paper of class 9 (old course) due to confusion in many examination halls.
Though a board notification said that the paper stood cancelled, it was conducted on Monday.
