ISLAMABAD: Shalimar police apprehended a suspect wanted in numerous bike lifting incidents and recovered four stolen motorcycles and number plates from his possession.

A police spokesman said a crackdown has been launched against criminal elements involved in car and bike lifting.

During the preliminary investigation, the arrested suspect confessed to being involved in numerous bike lifting incidents, he added.

All senior officials have been directedfor effective crackdown against criminals involved in car lifting incidents.

In another development, police apprehended five outlaws from different areas of the city and recovered weapons with ammunition from their possession.

Meanwhile, the capital police arrested 24 absconders and proclaimed offenders involved in heinous crime last week.

The arrests were made by Aabpara, Golra, Industrial Area, Shahzad Town, Bhara Kahu, Kohsar, Margalla, Noon and Karachi Company police. -Staff Reporter
