LAHORE: Play areas (joyrides) in various parks are likely to be opened to public within a week or so as the contractors operating them have adopted security measures.

All the city public parks were closed after the Gulshan-e-Iqbal park blast.

Except the Gulshan Park, the PHA opened all other parks but kept the joyride areas out of bounds for public.

`Under an SOP (standard operating procedure), we had advised our contractors to make certain arrangements for the safety of children, their parents and others in joyride areas of all parks. Since they are about to finish the job we expect to open them within a week, PHA DG Mian Shakeel told Dawn on Tuesday.
