AS is my routine, I was doing morning yoga in a group in the Aunty Park in Karachi`s supposedly posh area when two minor girls aged around five passed through enjoying the surroundings. The older sister was taking due care of her younger sibling and was guiding her along the way. A few minutes later we all heard panicky shrieks of these minor girls as two stray dogs roaming freely in the park were barking at them rather ferociously.
While the dogs were about to attack them, a man standing close by intercepted and made the dogs go away. Had the dogs attacked the girls, their life would have been in danger. The younger sibling was in real danger of being physically mauled by the dogs.
While people come to the Aunty Park for walk and exercise, the stray dogs roaming around in hordes make them fear for their lives instead of focussing on their health and fitness. The whole purpose of visiting the park, as such, stands spoilt in the presence of these dogs moving around aimlessly. The park administration should get a proper fencing around the whole premises, and keep the entries gaurded to ward off the dogs.
