SHANGLA: Three bodies, including that of a girl, were found in different areas here on Saturday — two from the Indus River and one, a young boy, from a field in Chawga area.

Chawga police station SHO Ajmal Khan said the tortured body of a young boy was found in a field, who was later identified as Shahbaz Khan, a resident of Chawga.

He said Amjad Khan, the slain boy’s brother, earlier reported that Shahbaz had gone missing. He quoted the complainant as saying Shahbaz was tortured before being shot dead by their rivals over a family dispute.

He said an FIR was registered, and efforts were underway to trace the suspects.

Local residents said the boy was set to leave for abroad in the coming days.

Meanwhile, two bodies were recovered from the Indus River in Bisham and Chakesar tehsils on Saturday, a rescue official said, adding a total of four bodies had been recovered from the river over the past three days. — Correspondent
