CHARSADDA: Awami National Party leader Asfandyar Wali Khan has advised political forces avoid polarisation and join hands to steer the country out of the prevalent crises.

Addressing the members of provincial and central organising committees of the party here in Wali Bagh on Monday, he asked the government to take the parliament into confidence about the political situation in the region in the aftermath of general elections in Iran, India and Afghanistan.

The meeting was presided over by Bushra Gohar, the acting president of ANP central organising committee. Former chief minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, Mian Iftikhar, Afrasiab Khattak, Baz Mohammad and Nemroz Khan were also present on the occasion.

Asfandyar expressed concern over the widening gulf between the state institutions. He termed the one-year performance of the government disappointing, saying it failed to provide relief to masses.

`People are suffering owing to loadshedding, price hike and deteriorating law and order,` he said.

He added that situation was particularly dismal in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

`It is a change for the worse if there is any change at all,` Asfandyar said. He added that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government failed in protecting the life and property of the people of the province.

Asfandyar paid rich tributes to the sacrifices of the workers of ANP, saying followers of Bacha Khan weathered many storms and they would continue their struggle against all odds.

The meeting decided to complete intraparty elections before Ramzan.
