QUETTA: A suspected militant was killed and two security personnel were injured in an exchange of fire in Mashkay area of Awaran district, while five hideouts of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan were destroyed in Zhob.

A spokesman for the FrontierCorpsBalochistan said here late on Tuesday night that FC troops launched a search operation in Mashl(ay area during which armed men fought a gun battle with them.A suspected militant was killed and four others arrested. Two FC soldiers were injured. The security force seized automatic weapons from the suspects.

FC troops also destroyed fiveTTPhideoutsinMurgha Kibzai area close to the Afghan border in Zhob district. `After escaping from North Waziristan and other areas of Fata, they (militants) were trying to establish their hideouts in Zhob and Loralai,` the spol(esman said, adding that the FC had foiled their attempt to set up hideouts in mountainous areas of both the districts.
