Water problem

2015-05-20
PEOPLE of Karachi are facing an acute shortage of water. For the last one decade no new water supply scheme has been implemented for the largest and the most populace metropolitan city of Pakistan, while its population has multiplied exponentially.

The water problem has been further compounded by the dismantling of illegal hydrants. Although the tanker mafia has increased water tanker rates, there is a long queue of customers.

The scarcity is specially hitting the lower-income group which cannot afford water tankers. The authorities concerned should resolve the problem soon.
