KARACHI: A suspected militant was shot dead in an alleged encounter in Sohrab Goth on Tuesday.

Police said that acting on a tip-off about the presence of some militants in Janjal Goth, a police team carried out a raid there.

They came under an armedattack as soon as they entered the area and in `retaliatory Sring` one suspect was killed, claimed area SHO Fasih Zaman.

The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately.

The police claimed to have seized a pistol and a motorbike from him.

His two accomplices managed to escape.
