e-Rozgaar centre inaugurated at UoG

GUJRAT: An e-Rozgar training centre has been inaugurated at the University of Gujrat (UoG) to enable the educated youthtoearn throughonlinejobs and businesses.

Advisor t o Punjab chief minister and Punjab Inf ormation Technology Board (PITB) chairman Dr Umar Saif inaugurated the e-Rozgaar scheme at Arfa Karim Block at Hafiz Hayat Campus of the UoG on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Saif said about 10,000 graduates would be given three months training at the e-Rozgaar centres in the first phase and the training would help them explore career opportunities by applying their internetfreelancingskills.

`A plan is under way to set up similar centres in 36 districts of the province.

The entrepreneurship and self-business opportunities through freelancing will help the youth a great deal to explore more profitable avenues and contribute to the national economic development,` he said.

Dr Saif added the Pakistani youth had been at number three in using online freelancing in the world and if 10,000 youths would earn US $100 daily, Pakistan could earn US $36bn per annum.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ziaul Qayyum said e-Rozgaar scheme would bring down the unemployment rate in the country.
