BAHAWALPUR: A seven-year-old child was killed by a pack of stray dogs at Rajawala village in the suburbs of Sammasatta, about 20 kilometres away from here, on Wednesday.
Reports said Ayan Ali, 7, son of Abdul Sattar Shah, was on his way home from school when a pack ofdogs attacked and inflicted wounds on him.
The child remained unattended at the abandoned place where he succumbed to his injuries after some time.
The boy`s family rushed to the place after being informed about the incidentandhisfatherfainted after seeing his son.
Locals shifted both father and son to their house.
The parents did not report the incident to the Sammasatta police but some locals protested against the union council officials for not culling thestray dogs which are a constant threat to the people.
The Saddar tehsil assistant commissioner (AC) on Thursday visited the house of Abdul Sattar and condoled the death of his son. People apprised him of the frequent incidents ofstray dogs`attacks.
GANG: Lodhran DPO Abdul Rauf Babar claims that police have unearthed Larka gang allegedly involved in more than 18 cases of robberies and murders.
The DPO told a press conference on Thursday that police had arrested ringleader Ayub Larka, Munawar and Irshad and they had confessed to their involvement in 18 cases. He said police had recovered booty which the gangsters had stolen from citizens, mostly traders.
Meanwhile, the Lodhran city and Dhinote police claim to have arrested Jahangir and Waseem for selling kites and recovered 150 kites along with 20 rolls of strings.
