he Ambassador of UAE, Essa Abdullah Al Basha Al Noaimi, hosted a grand iftar this week. Among the guests were Adviser to the Prime Minister on Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Additional Secretary for the Middle East in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tasawar Khan, several ministers, senior civil servants and religious leaders.
Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Kazakhstan`s Ambassador Bakhitbek Shabarbayev, other foreign envoys and senior diplomats were also attending.
In his speech, Ambassador Al Noaimi spoke about the importance of Ramazan and the good relations between Pakistan and his country. He also bade farewell to the UAE Embassy`s Deputy Head of Mission Matar Al-Mansoor who was leaving Pakistan after serving here for more than five years to take up a new assignment as the Deputy Head of Mission at the UAE Embassy in Australia.
The fast was broken with dates and traditional Arab food and drinks, which was followed by prayers and an elaborate dinner.
