TIMERGARA: A kidnapped taxi driver was found dead in Katasar area here on Monday. Hazratullah, son of a retired army subedar Samiullah, was kidnapped by unidentified people on June 2.
The kidnappers had abandoned the taxi in Matako area.
The police dispatched the body to Bannu, the hometown of the driver, for burial af ter postmortem. They also registered a case and began investigation.
Meanwhile, Lower Dir district police officer Kashif Zulfiqar Khan on Monday warned the people against firing gunshots in the air on the eve of Eidul Fitr.
In a statement issued here, the DPO warned that those found involved in celebratory firing would be sent to jail as the act threatened the people`s life.
Also in the day, hundreds of Talash Noorakhel residents staged a rally against the Pesco over the excessive power outages and blocked the TimergaraPeshawar Road for more than two hours. They dispersed only after tehsil nazim Riaz Mohammad, assistant commissioner Muhammad Imran, Pesco SDO Karimullah and district councillor Malik Barakat Khan showed up and assured them of early end to unscheduled outages and low voltage.
