Al-Quds Day to be marked on Friday

PESHAWAR: The Tehreek-i-Azadi Al-Quds, Peshawar, has announced that Jummatul Wida, the last Friday of Ramazan, will be observed as the Al-Quds Day in the district on June 23 to express solidarity with Palestinians making a struggle against Israeli oppression.

The announcement was made by Tehreek central leader Allama Abid Shakari during a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Monday.

Accompanied by provincial president of the Tehreek Khalid Durrani, deputy general secretary Akhunzada Muzzafar Ali and other religious scholars, Mr Shakari said the people would mark the Al-Quds Day keeping in view the current changing situation around the world, especially in Palestine, Myanmar, Syria, Egypt, Iraq and Kashmir.

He said all necessary arrangements had been made to mark the day to create public awareness of Israeli tyrannies againstinnocentPalesdnians.

`The Al-Quds has a great significance for Muslims, who can`tremain silent about theIsraeli occupationof Palestinian territories,` he said.

He said the main procession of the day would be taken out from Jamia Masjid Kocha Risaldar, in which activists and workers of different political parties and religious scholars would participate to show interfaith unity.

He said the Al-Quds Day was a special day for Muslims of all around the world to show their support for the oppressed Muslims of Palestine. Bureau Report
