PTV orders inquiry into faulty booster

KHAR: Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) on Monday started an inquiry into the closure of its booster in Bajaur Agency due to which people could not watch Champions Trophy final between Pakistan and India, sources in the local administration told Dawn.

They said the inquiry had been launched on the complaints of local people as they could not watch ICC Champions Trophy final match between Pakistan and India on Sunday.

The sources said technical department of PTV headquarters in Islamabad had requested the local administration to help them find out whether or not the booster in the region was closed on Sunday during the cricket match.

A local official said the administration had called the persons manning the PTV booster today(Tuesday) for questioning.

It`s to be mentioned here that cricket fans in Bajaur complained on Sunday that they were unable to watch ICC Champions Trophy final match due to the faulty PTV booster.

LEVIES FORCE: Political agent Abdul Amir Khattak on Monday asked the officials of Bajaur Levies to further improve their performance.

This he said while addressing a meeting of Bajaur Levies company commanders in Khar.

Mr Khattak, who is also the commandant of the force, said the administration was striving to ensure modern facilities to the force`s personnel.

The political agent appreciated the role of Levies in elimination of militancy and restoration of peace in the agency.

On the occasion, the political agent awarded appreciation certificates and cash prizes to Levies personnel.
